March 31, 2020

This week, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan issued an official order for all state residents to stay at home due to COVID-19 outbreak, closing all businesses that are non-essential as of 8p.m. March 30. Neighboring Washington, D.C. and Virginia soon followed suit.

The end of March and beginning of April are typically a bustling time for tourism and for life in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia metro area, commonly referred to as the D.M.V. This time in early spring brings with it the region’s famous cherry blossoms, and tourists and residents alike flock to the tidal basin to look at the stunning flowers.
